[FROM THE TEXT]
This chapter reviews key skills and concepts that pose special problems for writers: * Sentence Fragments and Run-on Sentences * Subject-Verb Agreement * Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement * Verb Forms * Pronoun Forms * Comparison and Placement of Modifiers * Double Negatives * Standard Usage * Capitalization * Punctuation—Commas, End Marks, Semicolons, Colons, Quotation Marks, and Apostrophes * Spelling. Most of the exercises in this chapter follow the same format as the exercises found throughout the grammar, usage, and mechanics sections of this book. You will notice, however, that two sets of review exercises are presented in standardized test formats. These exercises are designed to provide you with practice not only in solving usage and mechanics problems but also in dealing with these kinds of problems on standardized tests.
