Due to popularity of Korean dramas and movies, non-Korean speakers are able to observe how Korean are calling someone. Non-Korean speakers often find the naming and titles are quite different from their culture. This document is to explain Korean style naming, calling, and the cultural differences.

yea ..my people are like this too..
my mom tells us everyday to have respect for our elders and call them in proper manner way..
like i have a cousin in California..and i don't call her by her first name i call her older sister Ong...instead of just Ong...
but now a day.. people just call them by their first name instead of being proper..
i guess people can be like that as long as they are not rude.

you mean "오빠"? it is pronounced as "Oppa".
